The AKG WMS40 PRO Vocal Set FLEXX consists of the HT40 FLEXX handheld transmitter and a SR40 FLEXX diversity receiver. The WMS40 PRO FLEXX operates on three selectable UHF frequencies for interference-free reception. Diversity receivers mean maximum transmission reliability even in difficult environments. The SR40 FLEXX diversity system automatically selects the antenna providing the best signal. Adjustable squelch to keep the system quiet. Multichannel capability for simultaneous use of up to nine channels. All-metal case. High Definition Audio Performance technology ensures the legendary, realistic AKG sound and perfect audio transmission.

A diversity receiver employs two antennas each with an independent receiver where the signals are demodulated separately. The SR40 FLEXX receiver continuously compares the signal strength from each and seamlessly switches to the strongest signal, ensuring the optimum reception in the specific venue.

UHF operates in a higher frequency range than VHF systems. The VHF range is very highly populated with traffic, and because the VHF signal has a longer wave length, VHF radio signals pass through non-metallic walls easier than a UHF signal, making VHF wireless systems more prone to radio interference. Though more expensive than VHF wireless, UHF is well worth the extra cost.
