AKG WMS 40 PRO INSTRUMENT SET FLEXX

The AKG WMS40 PRO Instrument Set Flexx is a UHF wireless system consisting of a AKG PT40 FLEXX body pack receiver, SR40 FLEXX diversity receiver, and MKG L instrument cable. The MKG L cable allows an electric guitar or bass to be connected directly to the PT40 FLEXX bodypack transmitter, though the PT40 FLEXX can be used with microphones as well as guitars. The WMS40 PRO FLEXX system transmits on one of three selectable UHF frequencies.

A diversity receiver employs two antennas each with an independent receiver where the signals are demodulated separately. The SR40 FLEXX receiver continuously compares the signal strength from each and seamlessly switches to the strongest signal, ensuring the optimum reception in the specific venue.

UHF operates in a higher frequency range than VHF wireless systems. The VHF range is very highly populated with traffic, and because the VHF signal has a longer wave length, VHF radio signals pass through non-metallic walls easier than a UHF signal, making VHF wireless systems more prone to radio interference. Though more expensive than VHF wireless, UHF is well worth the extra cost.
