The Zoom G2.1u effect is offered in two algorithms, one optimised for live and one for recording. The Zoom G2.1u comes pre-programmed with 40 preset effects patches, 20 optimised for use with a guitar amp on stage, and 20 for recording with a mixer or DAW software. Three rotary knobs allow editing parameters. Create a sound in the studio, and take it to your gig. The specs of the G2.1u are at home in the studio environment with 96 kHz sampling rate, 24-bit A/D/A conversion, 32-bit internal architecture resulting in a frequency response of 20-40,000 Hz, and ZNR Zoom Noise Reduction developed specifically to shut out unwanted noise during guitar playing pauses. For gigging, the Zoom G2.1u adds a built-in auto chromatic guitar tuner with a calibration range of 435 to 445 Hz, bright LED indicators, and mute tuning with no sound output, and a built-in expression pedal to control effects parameters in real time.

Because of the speed of Zoom's ZFX-3 processing chip, the interval when switching patches is reduced to 0.005 seconds in the Zoom G2.1. When changing from rhythm to lead, you no longer need to press the switch slightly in advance, simply push the foot switch and start playing the solo phrase.

A USB port on the Zoom G2.1u means the unit can function as an audio interface for computer based recording systems. Very important for guitar players, the Zoom G2.1u offers zero latency monitoring. Steinberg Cubase LE is supplied with the Zoom G2.1u, for Windows XP or Mac OS X 10.2 or higher.

• The Zoom G2.1u contains nine effects modules producing 54 effects types including dymanics, ambience, drive and modulation, even a six-band equalizer, and cabinet emulations with choice of mic positions.

ZOOM G2.1U 16 CLASSIC AMP AND STOMP BOX MODELS

• The Zoom G2.1u digitally simulates the clipping and distortion of 16 different classic valve amps and vintage effects, reproducing the depth and dynamics of the originals. Because the G2.1u uses a 96 kHz sample rate, twice the standard 48 kHz, at 24-bit A/D/A conversion with 32-bit internal processing it produces authentic sounding valve amp harmonics. Noise specifications of 120 dB signal-to-noise ratio and a noise floor -100 dB mean the G2.1u sound is transparent and clean enough for studio recording. The G2.1u creates a realistic balance of fundamental notes and harmonics which is the signature of great analogue tone.
