THE VOODOO LAB MICRO VIBE GUITAR EFFECTS PEDAL

The Voodoo Lab Micro Vibe is an analogue recreation of the 1968 Uni-Vibe 4-stage phase shifer pedal with added true bypass switching. Jimi Hendrix used the effect on his Band of Gypsys record and his Woodstock performance of The Star Spangled Banner. The Voodoo Lab Micro Vibe effects stompbox outputs a lush psychedelic swirl that flashes you back to the '60s and '70s.The Voodoo Lab Micro Vibe Pedal recreates the big sound of the original Univibe used by Hendrix on Machine Gun and Robin Trower on Bridge of Sighs. For a touch of authenticity, the Voodoo Lab Micro Vibe uses the original incandescent lamp, photocells, sine-wave oscillator, but can be powered by a 9V battery. Jimi Hendrix loved the original Uni-Vibe pedal which was sort of a rudimentary chorus effect with some detuning effect similar to a guitar's vibrato. Original Uni-Vibe pedals are astronomically expensive, but it's fluid textures have now been duplicated in the Voodoo Lab Micro Vibe stomp box. The late Stevie Ray vaughan and Eric Johnson have both been known to use this Uni-Vibe sound on their recordings. Phase shifting works by taking the input signal and delaying it, and then mixing the delayed signal back with the original non-delayed signal so that certain frequencies of the audio are in or out of phase with each other. The time delay is modulated via the Rate control knob so the delay changes with time. As the delay changes, different frequencies of the audio waveform will move in and out of phase with each other in the mix of delayed and non-delayed signal. This creates the characteristic sweeping sound of phaser effects pedals.
