The Sontronics STC-1S is a laboratory-matched pair of our STC-1 cardioid microphones. Ideally suited for A/B, X/Y and other methods of stereophonic recording, these microphones will help you to capture a perfect stereo image, whether a string quartet or a full symphony.
The variable filter and pad switches further enhance the versatility of this set, allowing them to be used to record many instrument sources, whether acoustic or amplified.
The optional Omnidirectional and Hypercardioid capsules are also compatible with this set, but please note that the microphones will no longer be classed as ÔmatchedÕ.
Supplied in a luxury wooden case with a stereo mounting bar and mounting clips, we have also made provision for storing the optional capsules, if required.
The STC-1, with its gold-sputtered cardioid capsule, is perfectly suited for recording instruments of any kind, as drum overheads or for simply capturing room ambience.
Its high SPL handling means that it is equally at home in front of a guitar amplifier or a violin, capturing a clear, precise recording without introducing distortion and noise.
Thanks to its three-stage filter and pad switches, the STC-1 is one of the most flexible microphones in its class and puts the competition in the shade. Sontronics have developed the optional STC-OMNI and STC-HYPER capsules to make this little gem one of the most useful microphones you could own.
