THE RANDALL MTS SERIES KIRK HAMMETT PREAMP MODULES
Kirk Hammett started playing guitar at the age of fifteen and has gone on to become one of the most recognizable names in guitar playing history. He was the first inductee into Guitar World magazine’s hall of fame and was ranked 11th in the Rolling Stone's The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time in 2003. He joined Metallica in the early 80s and has recorded and toured with them for 24 years. Now, he has lent his artistic and technical knowledge to create the new Kirk Hammett signature Randall products.
Hammett’s signature amp was based on the existing Randall Modular Tube System (MTS) and was tweaked to Kirk’s exacting specification. The design incorporates three separate all-tube preamp modules: one for Clean (KH1), one for crunch rhythm sounds (KH2) and one for high gain lead tones (KH3).

KH1
Based on Kirk's classic clean tones, the voicing of this preamp is based on various clean amps that Kirk has used throughout his illustrious career. A great clean tone for any style.
KH2
Based on Kirk's signature rhythm tone, the KH2 instantly becomes a classic because of its extreme wide-range of tones. This mid to hi-gain preamp is perfect for any classic rock and metal tone and for that early Metallica rhythm tone.
KH3
Based on Kirk's legendary hi-gain lead tone, this preamp takes the KH2 to a higher level of gain and sustain. Utilizing the same tone circuit as the KH2, the KH3 is tailored more for the modern rock and metal guitarist who demands a high level of gain.
