The Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive Overdrive Guitar Effects Pedal doubles your sounds with two amp tones! Clean or dirty, the Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive pedal's got it all. The Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive Overdrive Pedal is a stompbox guitar effect that layers 2 amps: one clean, the other saturated and dirty. With the Clean control off, the Sparkle Drive overdrive circuit produces the same tone as a vintage TS 808 Tubescreamer pedal and features the original JRC4558 opamp used in the 808. Unique Clean control blends back in a boosted direct signal for a rich, layered tone. Crank the Clean all the way up for transparent, clean boost to drive the front end of your amp. Gain control sets the gain level for the overdrive sound only with no effect on the clean signal. Heavy-duty metal on/off switch with status LED. Powered by a single 9V battery or center negative 9VDC external supply. True bypass switching means no loss of tone when the Sparkle Drive pedal is bypassed. For guitarists there is a distinction between overdrive and distortion. Distortion generally means extreme distortion and is associated with a buzzing or "fuzz" type of sound. Overdrive means a light semi-distortion with increased harmonics and presence, but not the same as all out distortion. Technically overdrive is still distortion, but it's mild enough that more of the character of the guitar comes through.
